Meet the Most Interesting People
There are more than 41,000 people who have chosen to call Sunrise Senior Living communities home. Taken together, they represent a composite portrait of a generation that grew up in the Great Depression, proudly served their country during the Second World War, and then quietly raised families and did their part in creating the comfortable, secure way of life we enjoy today. A Lifetime of Accomplishment One of the pleasures of living at Sunrise is the opportunity to meet this amazing group of people and to experience this composite portrait one strand at a time. An informal poll of one Sunrise independent living community turned up a former member of Admiral Halsey’s staff, a captain in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II, a senior executive at Boeing, a member of the National Academy of Engineering, a political cartoonist, a former congressman, and a college football coach, as well as physicians, architects, and entrepreneurs. At Sunrise, the opportunity to talk with another resident is truly an occasion to be amazed by the variety of the human experience. Continuing to Contribute The residents of our independent living communities are still active and engaged, organizing monthly jazz presentations, volunteering at neighborhood schools and at Recording for the Blind, and attending lectures at a local university. Although they have many stories to tell, they are equally interested in adding new chapters as time goes on.
