Moving to Independent Living
Many seniors know in their hearts when it’s time to make the move to an independent living community. They know when they’re tired of the routine maintenance that even new homes require. They know what it’s like to feel housebound, particularly in the evening when they don’t feel comfortable driving. They understand what it means to be lonely, especially if a spouse has passed away and children have moved to other areas of the country. And they worry that if their health takes a turn for the worse, living alone may not be safe, no less desirable. Find Out What You Gain Yet all too many people stick it out despite their misgivings, and they do so for a number of very understandable reasons. Some people stay put because their surroundings, while no longer ideal, are at least familiar. Others hesitate to leave because the thought of sorting through a lifetime of possessions and selling their home seems daunting. Part of the problem is that seniors are not sure what they’ll gain by moving to an independent living community. If you feel like you want to move, but are hesitant to act, it may be a good idea to do some investigating on your own and find out what life in an independent living community is really like. Independent Living at Sunrise At Sunrise Senior Living, we cater to the needs of independent seniors. We offer a wealth of meaningful activities, provide transportation for routine shopping, doctor’s appointments, and religious observances, and prepare delicious meals served restaurant-style in our dining rooms.
